Ragnar Rasmussen

Ragnar Rasmussen is Associate Professor of Choral Conducting at the Conservatory of Music at Tromso University, Norway, and Director of the Vokal Nord Ensemble as well as the Mimas Chamber Choir.

In 2007-2008 he was a guest lecturer at the Academy of Music of the University of Slovenia. From 2008 to 2010 he was a conductor for the National Youth Choir of Norway. In 2010, he conducted the World Youth Choir. He studied sacred music and choral conducting with E. Ericson and S. Sköld, and studied orchestral conducting with C. Metters and J. Panula. He has received awards in numerous competitions, including conducting awards with the choirs Saga, Mimas and Vokal Nord Ensamble.

He is a regular guest conductor for choirs and orchestras from all over Europe, and is often a member of national and international choir competition juries. Ragnar Rasmussen frequently teaches courses and workshops for conductors.
